Frequently asked questions

Full answers, on this page.

Does Zonda Player provide channels?

No, none at all. Zonda Player is a player: it shows what your own subscription gives it, exactly as VLC plays the files you open with it. No content is provided, hosted, indexed or resold, and the software is unusable until you add your own source.

What does the free version include?

The whole playback experience: channels, movies, series, the TV guide and search by what is on, with every supported format and one configured source. The subscription adds favourites, custom categories, resume, unlimited sources, downloads and online subtitles, and removes advertising.

Can I use it on several computers?

Yes, on as many machines as you like, but one at a time. If you start playback on a second computer, the first one stops and tells you why. There is nothing to deactivate or release before moving to another machine.

How much is the subscription, and how do I pay?

€15 a year including tax, the same price across the European Union. You pay by card. The subscription renews yearly and stops with one click from your account, with no fee and no reason to give: the service then stays available until the end of the period you already paid for.

Which formats are supported?

HLS (.m3u8) and MPEG-TS (.ts) streams for live TV, and MP4 for movies and series. MKV, AVI and MPEG-2 containers are remuxed on the fly by an ffmpeg component downloaded once, without ever re-encoding the video.

Why do you ask for an email address?

It is the account: it carries your licence, free or paid, and lets you find your subscription again when you change machine. There is no password to remember, a six-digit code is sent to you each time you sign in.

What data do you keep?

Your email address, a randomly generated identifier for each device, and a connection log including the IP address, kept for a year and used to enforce the one-device rule. Your IPTV credentials never leave your computer: they are encrypted by the system keychain.

What happens to my account if I do not renew?

It goes back to free. You keep your account, your sources and your catalogue, and only lose the subscription features. Nothing is deleted, and subscribing again restores them as they were.
